The sun beamed brightly on the south coast of Jara. Untouched by the influence of humans the tall trees housed the glory of nature in it's intended form. Birds chirping, crocodiles swimming and monkeys congregating all in peaceful harmony.
The non intrusive locals dressed in grass skirts and nothing else went by their day as usual. The children played after being washed in the rivers by their mothers. The women foraged for food and the men fished and sailed their boats to try hunting fish.
A few non locals dressed in worn down Luxen military pants cut down to shorts swam and existed at peace with the locals. Abandoning the chaos of war they had resolved to leave behind the complications and fighting of modern life and live with the tribe situated at the south end of the Jaran coast.
"I love it here. Even the kids never fight" a black haired Luxen man with stubbles of facial hair said as he sat on the beach with a young tanned woman as they watched children jovially play. "I mean yeah they have no reason to" she said laying her head on his chest as the sun began to set.
Closing his eyes in another day of paradise the woman on his chest quickly started to slap at him. "Ahh what the fuck are you-" he said as he sat up and saw the Luxen military ship off in the distance. Scrambling to their feet they ran and hid as one by one everyone noticed saw the ship and ran to hide behind their shelters.
Rising above deck the Jaran reinforcements looked to the east and saw the forested south of their homeland. "So no one thought about cutting those trees down so they don't get ambushed?" Hori asked looking through a pair of binoculars around the large pine trees and hill off to the distance.
"I don't see anything though, no traps no nothing" Jude said looking through a periscope as his heart thundered in his chest from fear of what was to come. "Sun's set there should be very minimal surprises if everyone stays focused and on point" Lucas said as his mouth dried up.
As they approached the coast four smaller motorboats were lowered to the sea below but remained attached to the larger vessel. "Alright deploy the double fake" Thomas said into a communication device to a man in the ships control deck.
On command the Lux flag was taken down and replaced with the flag of a neighboring country. "Think they're going to know its us?" Kosi asked looking over to the coast. "One hundred percent they're definitely watching us right now from somewhere" Thomas said looking through his binoculars feeling his hands condensate with sweat.
"Alright it's time" Eric said as his stomach tied up into a series of never-ending knots. Leaning over the deck looking into the deep black sea he was transfixed by the currants.
Looking back he noticed everyone else preoccupied with their own fears and worries and leaned over the deck throwing up as silently as possible. Looking to his sides once again he noticed Willow also leaning over visibly white as a sheet.
Gripping the railing he grit his teeth and repeated himself. "Hey! Enough wallowing and bitching out! I said it's time!" Eric said looking visibly clammy and haggard. "I don't want to be here. I'm fucking petrified! Your all scared shitless too! But fuck me we're here and the sooner we do this the sooner we go home so let's get it done already" he said shrugging.
"Captain Puke is right" Belal said as Thomas looked over his shoulder at him. Looking back he held his hands up "Alright sorry Captain. Private Puke is right" he said nodding sagely and smirking to Eric's chagrin.
"Alright...give them hell" Thomas said as everyone put their helmets on and lined up to descend into the smaller boats. One by one they climbed down the rope ladders leading to the ships below.
Once everyone was inside Thomas called to the command center. "Drop us in" he said as his heart sank. One by one the smaller vessels were dropped into the sea and motored off into different directions except one that stayed put.
The man in the control center set the ship to autopilot as it began circling the Jaran coast. Hopping overboard he climbed down into the last ship waiting below and they sailed off to fight their way through and bring down the most dangerous military base in Jara.
Thomas had been given clear instructions and relayed that to everyone especially his three deputies who would each lead a boat. Lucas, Eric and Hori would motor to different points on the coast, hide their ships and head north until meeting up at the hill where they would no doubt be met with Jaran troops at the top and have to fight their way up. With their chances of survival slim to none it would now be kill or be killed.
