Upon hearing the word "love," Snow just wanted to sneer.
Even if Bella loved Edward so much, Edward still didn't want her. Women are like that, always wearing their love on their lips, thinking that love is everything, and wasting their whole lives for it.
Perhaps even Bella herself didn't realize that it was her love for Edward that had led to her bumpy life. This goes to show that there's nothing commendable about love; it's just something that grinds people down.
In the end, neither of them could convince the other, so of course it remained unresolved.
After sending Bella back to the residential area, Snow didn't get out of the car. He looked at Bella's retreating figure and said loudly: "Bella, join me for a trip to The Collins this weekend!"
"No!" Bella rejected him very bluntly.
