"Really?" Edward Anderson's voice showed no sign of emotion.
"Of course! How could there be a lie about me and Charles having dinner?" Bella Scott was puzzled.
Edward Anderson responded with a single word before falling silent.
Bella Scott didn't think much of it, assuming that Edward was just a reticent person.
She continued to chat with Edward, who always replied with single-word answers.
Thinking that he might be eating and it wasn't convenient for him to talk, she considerately said, "You eat first, we could chat later."
Without waiting for Edward to say anything, she hung up the phone.
"Edward is such a boring person. I don't know if all men with strong career drives are like this. I ask three questions, and he just gives me a single-word answer," Bella Scott couldn't help but complain.
Only someone as amiable as her could put up with Edward and not pick a quarrel with him. Other women would surely dislike him intensely, right?
