Cecelia snatched back the wine glass, stared at Edward Anderson defiantly, and then drained it in one gulp.
Although Bella returned safely, Mila was gone, and she still hated Edward.
Two years ago, Edward's inability to distinguish right from wrong for Brynn Williams had caused Mila's death. She would remember this grudge for a lifetime.
She believed that Bella also had the same thoughts as her.
Even though they were once the closest people to Edward, that was all in the past.
The atmosphere at the scene suddenly became oppressive.
No one spoke, after all, this was Edward's family affair, and they, as outsiders, had no right to interfere.
"No matter how much you hate me, you still have to take care of yourself outside. I'm sorry for hurting both you and Bella's hearts," said Edward, looking at Bella and continuing gently, "I hope that one day you'll give me a chance to repay what I owe you in this lifetime."
