"Didn't you used to say how great your mom is? Just because you were punished to write a self-criticism, you think your mom is harsh now?" Kassidy Dean laughed.
Jessica Scott pouted, "Mom doesn't love me at all."
"It's because she loves you that she's strict with you. You'll understand Bella's intentions when you grow up." Kassidy Dean gently replied.
Jessica Scott snuggled up in Kassidy Dean's arms, her eyes filling with tears, "I miss dad."
Bella Scott walked to the door and heard Kassidy Dean and Jessica's conversation.
She had to be tough on Jessica. As someone who's been there, she didn't want her daughter to follow in her footsteps.
In the past, she had poor academic performance and often got into fights, leading to much ridicule. Jessica took after her in many ways, especially inheriting her shortcomings, which was her main concern.
Bella Scott turned around and went downstairs. As she was daydreaming, the doorbell rang.
