"She is still my mother, can you not be so harsh when you talk about her?" Kallie was unhappy.
Tariq Lane talked about Anabelle Martin as if she were some kind of repulsive fly; it made Kallie feel uncomfortable. It wasn't long ago when the Scotts were one of the prominent families in Philadelphia. If it wasn't for Charles White and Edward Anderson, how could the Scotts' property have been taken away by Charles White?
"I'm stating facts." Tariq Lane said calmly: "Not to mention that I don't have that much liquid capital on hand, even if I did, I wouldn't lend it to your mother."
"Don't forget, we are husband and wife, my mother is your mother too." Kallie argued angrily.
Tariq kept referring to her mother as "your mother," proving that he didn't consider Anabelle Martin as his family.
"I married you, not the Scotts. This matter ends here. I still have work to do. Leave and don't bother me." Tariq dismissed her.
Kallie left the study resentfully and slammed the door behind her.
