After hesitating for a moment, Edward Anderson finally backed down.
He opened the fridge, took out the lean meat, and began to make corn chowder.
Bella Scott watched him busily preparing the dish for Cecelia, feeling a little absent-minded. When Edward turned his head, he met her blank gaze.
"Do you really care about Cecelia?" Bella asked.
He used to ignore Cecelia, so why did he suddenly start being nice to her? Was there a reason behind it?
"She's my only sister, how could I not care for her?" Edward replied calmly.
Bella scoffed, "You should say that again when Cecelia is awake."
Cecelia was right; Edward was cold-blooded and indifferent to everyone. Perhaps the Cecelia he cared for was the lost child, not the current one.
When Cecelia woke up, it was already dark outside.
She sat up in a daze and, after getting used to the darkness of the room, got up to turn on the light.
When she opened the door and saw Edward sitting on the sofa, she stared in shock.
