Cecelia Anderson stared blankly at her flat belly, while Bella Scott looked absentmindedly at the street scenes outside the window.
They probably lost their children on the same day, as if it were prearranged.
Bella knew that Cecelia nearly died this time, with the child in her belly for over five months. If people could have just waited, the child could have been born healthy, but there were those who couldn't wait to kill the child.
As for her own child, it was not meant to be. She felt sad not just for this, but for the fact that she lost Edward Anderson the same time she realized she was in love with him.
What could be more ridiculous than that?
She had been confused for half her life, muddling through marriage and divorce, losing a child in confusion, falling in love with a man in a bewildered state, and finally losing him in an equally muddled manner.
