As soon as they entered the house, Bella Scott quickly pulled Cecelia Anderson into the bedroom and asked her to persuade Edward Anderson to leave.
"It would be more useful for you to seduce my brother yourself than for me to persuade him," Cecelia replied with a smile.
Bella's face fell. With her looks, seduction was out of the question.
She walked out of the bedroom and smelled cigarette smoke from the balcony. Her brow furrowed, and her chest heaved. She hurried into the bathroom, turned on the tap, and dry heaved for a while to suppress the nauseous feeling.
She composed herself, making sure nothing seemed amiss, before leaving the bathroom.
But Cecelia was standing by the door with a cold expression on her face.
Bella knew she was in trouble. Cecelia might have heard her earlier when she was too loud. Otherwise, she wouldn't have looked like that.
"What exactly are you hiding from me?" Cecelia asked with a cold stare.
