Returning to Cherden Hotel, Edward Anderson called Kaila Nelson over and ordered her to thoroughly investigate Cindy Scott's background.
About three hours later, Kaila returned empty-handed, claiming she could find no information about Cindy at all, nor any records of her registration.
"Have you searched using Little Catfish's photo?" Edward furrowed his brow.
If they couldn't find any background information on Little Catfish, the first possibility was that she hadn't been registered. Another possibility was that someone was protecting her and hiding her files.
"I couldn't find any records about Cindy Scott. I also checked something else: on the day Madam sent her to the orphanage, no children went to the police to report anything. This confirms that Cindy lied at the time. She wasn't sent to the Detective Agency by the police; she went there herself," Kaila reported intently.
