Bella Scott pretended not to notice Edward Anderson's scrutinizing gaze and got in the car first. The thought of watching Edward eating turtle at the banquet made the corners of her lips turn up involuntarily.
"You're in a good mood?" Edward mused.
He was increasingly sure that Bella had come up with a way to embarrass him at the banquet. Since he was the one she hated the most now, she would naturally try to make him uncomfortable.
"Of course, it's Mr. Anderson's birthday today, with all the city's elites gathering. It's a blessing in my life to attend such a banquet," Bella replied with a sardonic smile.
Edward smiled. "It is indeed a rare opportunity tonight."
"Tariq Lane and Kallie will also attend, right?" Bella asked with a beaming smile.
Edward didn't respond, his thoughts drifting. On an occasion like today, Kallie would have to attend. As for Tariq, as the son-in-law of the Lanes, he couldn't be absent either.
