Before Edward Anderson could explode, Howard Davis hung up the phone.
At 7:30 that evening, Bella Scott arrived at the agreed-upon restaurant as planned. Just as she was about to sit down, Charles White suddenly acted like a gentleman and pulled out her chair, making her look at him sideways.
She had known him for years, but this was the first time he had ever been so gentlemanly to her; usually, he treated her like a man.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Charles White flashed Bella Scott a charming smile.
"You've never pulled out a chair for me before. Are you on something today?" Bella Scott joked.
