Charles White planted a kiss on Elyssa Scott's hair. Even though their relationship had progressed, he didn't feel as happy as he had imagined, but rather empty. This feeling caught him by surprise.
He thought that finally getting the woman he liked would make him feel like he had the world, so why did it feel the opposite?
"Charles, what are you thinking about?" Elyssa noticed Charles' silence and asked him while lying on his chest.
Charles snapped out of his reverie, smiled, and shook his head. "I was just daydreaming."
Elyssa kissed Charles' handsome brow and asked, "After we get married, will you still treat me well?"
Charles smiled and nodded. "If I don't treat you well, then who will I treat well?"
"I'm not sure about that. Maybe after we're married, you'll still be protecting my sister, which would make me really mad..." Before Elyssa could finish, Charles silenced her with a kiss.

Bella Scott returned to her hotel room, swiping her room card to open the door, but it wouldn't work after several attempts. She was puzzled.
She went to the lobby to speak with a hotel staff member, and soon the hotel manager approached, respectfully informing her, "Miss Scott, Mr. Anderson called earlier and said he wouldn't extend the lease, so starting today, you can no longer stay in this room."
Bella wanted to ask how much it cost to stay one night, but in the end, she chose not to humiliate herself.
Edward Anderson knew she had no money, yet he took back the room, leaving her with no place to stay.
It seemed she would have to rent a small apartment for herself.
She checked her bank account to see how much money she had, finding her savings pitiful. But if she could rent a cheap single room, she could make it through two or three months.
This time, she went straight to Brynn Williams' apartment.
"Brynn..." Upon seeing Mr. Anderson sitting on the couch, Bella's words faded away.
"Oh, Edward said you were coming to see him, so he's been waiting here for a couple of hours." Brynn explained to Bella.
Bella was frustrated.
How strange, how did Edward know she would come to see Brynn? Did he figure she had no other friends to turn to besides Brynn?
Edward glanced at his watch, put down the magazine he was holding, and while passing by Bella, tersely said, "Bella, come with me."
Bella didn't want to follow him, glaring at Edward's retreating silhouette, as if she wanted to burn holes in his back.
"Do you have business with Edward? Didn't you say two years ago that if you ever saw him again, you would walk the other way?" Brynn asked curiously.
Bella snapped out of her trance, chuckling awkwardly, "I suddenly can't remember why I needed to see him."
Brynn didn't know Bella and Edward were married, but if she did, she would probably scold Bella.
"Edward is impatient; you should hurry up and find him. If he bullies you, remember to tell me." Brynn said, pushing Bella out the door.
Bella peeked out cautiously, spotting Edward standing in the elevator. She walked to the elevator and said, "You were looking for me, so why did you say I was looking for you?"
"Go home!" Edward coldly commanded.
Bella responded coldly, "That's your home, not mine."
She didn't want to go back to Edward's villa. It wasn't just about seeing his expression; if he tricked her to death, that would be even more tragic.
Edward exited the elevator, and Bella cautiously took two steps back, "Wh-what do you want to do?"
She had some self-awareness, knowing she couldn't beat him. If he resorted to force, she knew she wouldn't stand a chance.
