Maggie Lauper's expression was incredibly intense, her face constantly changing color.
Looking at Bella Scott, she didn't look like she was joking. But was that possible? Hadn't Bella just broken up with Edward Anderson? Why did she get together with Snow Collins so fast? Why hadn't she heard the news?
At this thought, Maggie felt a little more at ease.
It must be because Edward Anderson was present, and Bella Scott purposely said those things to provoke him. Her entanglement with Edward was too deep, and they had two children; she couldn't possibly marry Snow Collins.
The more Maggie thought about it, the more it made sense. She turned her attention to Edward Anderson.
Edward Anderson's expression was calm, seemingly unaffected by Bella Scott's remarks. So it seemed that no matter who Bella was with, Edward wouldn't care.
Was she the only one bearing the burden in this dinner?
