Perhaps because Robert had told him that he could play with his sister after finishing his meal, Tommy quickly and quietly finished his food. He put down his chopsticks, his cheeks bulging like a little hamster, and patted his little belly, saying, "Uncle Thomson, I'm done eating, can I see my sister now?"
"Swallow your food first," Robert said, noticing that the boy had eaten so fast that the adults had barely started their meal.
Clearly, Tommy was so eager to play with his sister that he ate so quickly.
Seeing Tommy eat quickly, Oliver buried his head in his rice bowl and started eating his meal rapidly as well. Charlotte, seeing her son finally eating obediently, added a chopstick full of spicy stir-fried beef to his little bowl.
"Slow down, Oliver, slow down."
Oliver didn't listen to her and continued to eat with his head down, not rejecting the food his mother added to his bowl.
