"If you really love this child," Robert Thomson began to cajole, "then you must make up for it in the future; treasure her like a gem in your heart. Do you understand?"
He was a bit concerned, knowing that he might be ruthlessly outranked by Tommy in her heart. But his little daughter must always be her number one!
