Robert Thomson was just that kind of person. When he wanted something, he would definitely obtain it. However, he wouldn't make you feel the pain of coercion; instead, he would infiltrate your life like boiling a frog in warm water, assimilating into every aspect without causing any discomfort or resistance. Finally, he would conquer your life, making you completely submit to him, body and soul.
He looked at the little boy sitting on the floor, working diligently on assembling model aircraft carrier parts. Thomas Smith was a perfect example. Thomas had previously known how much he resented Robert, but now, he seemed to trust him more and more. Given time, Thomas might even feel that Robert was better than his own father!
He asked, "Tommy, do you like Daddy?"
"Of course!" Thomas answered naturally, without even needing to think. His reply came easily.
He asked again, "Then, do you like Uncle Thomson?"
