As for her having a baby, she should wait until things become stable to tell her son. Letting him suddenly accept a new dad and a little brother in his life might be too much for him to handle.

She dared not bother Andrew any longer and instead hired a part-time helper to clean and take care of Tommy while she grabbed her keys and went out.
When she walked out, she was wearing leather shoes with laces, but after taking a couple of steps, the lace broke.
She thought for a moment and eventually changed out of those shoes, putting on a pair of flats. Even though she was only a bit over a month pregnant, she already wanted to be as careful as possible.
"Tommy, if anything happens, call me." Although she often asked this part-time helper to look after Tommy when she was busy, she still needed to be cautious since she was a stranger.
"Mm, I know, Mom." The little guy had an air of maturity.
