Ever since that day, even the foolish Dr. Lee could tell that Dylan King had developed genuine feelings for Emma Smith. He was not foolish enough to upset the hospital's future owner, so he let her take over the responsibility of checking on Thomas Smith alone. In the meantime, Dr. Lee and the other doctors and nurses went directly to other wards for their rounds.
She glanced back at him and gave him a slight nod: "Dr. Edwards."
Her face showed no sense of familiarity, only the ordinary respect a patient would have for a doctor.
He merely grunted in response and, wearing his white coat, walked over to Thomas.
"Doctor Uncle." Thomas, who had not been talking to his mom, became very enthusiastic upon seeing Dr. Edwards.
At first, Dylan was somewhat displeased by Emma's coldness towards him. However, upon seeing Thomas's cute little face, his mood cleared up like clouds giving way to sunshine, and he felt much better.
"Tommy, how are you feeling today?"
