Looking back at Andrew, she saw him staring straight at her.
It seemed as if in his eyes, she saw the warmth of sunshine.
She suddenly froze, feeling a little awkward, and turned her head to look at Thomas beside her.
Emma's movement interrupted Andrew's thoughts. He pulled back his wandering mind, picked up a piece of green bean, and put it in Emma's bowl. He remembered that Emma didn't eat much meat, yet she still wanted to take care of Thomas's health, hoping he would be healthy: "Emma, you've worked so hard this month, eat more."
For some reason, Emma felt that something was off about these words.
Too hard in a month? Well, taking care of Robert was indeed exhausting.
Emma's expression stiffened for a moment, but quickly returned to normal — so quickly that Andrew didn't even notice. The two continued laughing and eating.
She awkwardly nodded and said, "You don't need to help me. Just eat!"
How could Andrew not detect the hint of distance in her tone?
