There was a small river here, with lush green grass all around. In the distance, there was a forest; beyond that, an endless range of snow-capped mountains. Nearby, a river flowed like a jade belt. S City, truly, was like a haven, clean and comfortable!
"Yes, I like it!" Emma Smith nodded with a smile on her face.
"Wanna walk around?" Robert Thomson looked back and asked her. She nodded.
Alice grazed leisurely by the riverbank, while Robert and Emma rested under a large tree.
Looking up at the canopy overhead, with a trickling river by their side, Emma took a deep breath. It seemed as if she was inhaling the freshest air ever, which filled her entire being with peace and happiness.
She glanced at the man beside her; he was handsome and elegant, his long eyelashes hiding his true emotions. In the eyes of others, Emma should have felt truly fortunate — a prince-like man was actually willing to marry her!
But deep down inside, she felt a tinge of bitterness.
