The doctor looked at Emma Smith's worried face, unsure of how to comfort her, and could only nod in agreement: "The child has passed the critical period, and he can be taken home. If he feels unwell next time, you can give him some medicine first and then bring him to the hospital. I'm worried that the long journey might be too much for his heart!"
"Can we be discharged today?"
"Yes, but the surgery..."
"We will do it as soon as possible! Thank you, doctor!"
Emma, who had expressed her gratitude once again, watched the doctor return to his office before leaving the ward with Andrew.
After having a light breakfast, Emma completed the discharge procedures, ready to take Thomas home.
Thomas was still feeling a bit weak due to his illness; so, Andrew carefully picked him up. He reassured Emma with a comforting smile, "Don't worry, let's go home!"
"Yes!"
