As soon as she walked in, she saw little Thomas Smith's tiny hand holding Andrew's big hand. Andrew even carried Thomas's backpack, and they walked out chatting happily.
Seeing Emma, Thomas immediately let go of Uncle Andrew's hand and ran towards her. "Mom."
"Good boy, Tommy!" Emma picked him up as he ran towards her. "Tommy, were you well-behaved at Uncle Andrew's house yesterday?"
"Emma." Andrew came over, a slight smile on his face.
"Andrew." Emma put her son down and smiled back. "Thanks for looking after him yesterday."
"Don't mention it." Andrew patted Thomas's head. "Thomas was very well-behaved. It was good to have his company so I wouldn't be bored."
"Yesterday, Uncle Andrew played games with me!" Thomas looked up at her, laughing.
Emma didn't say anything, just held Thomas's little hand, her eyes filled with affectionate love.
