Elder Zhang's residence was some distance away from the pill room where Zhang Xiaohua lived, but both were on the left side of the inner valley. In the front, there were simple bamboo houses, and at the back were the pill rooms.
Looking at his tightly closed door, Elder Zhang laughed and said, "I haven't been back to this house for months."
Then, he looked around and asked, "Where are your senior brothers? Are they all at home?"
Valley Master Nie bitterly smiled and said, "Don't mention them. Even the other elders have become like free and unfettered birds, always flying off to who-knows-where."
Elder Zhang said, "We haven't been elders for many years. Shouldn't we study our own things and do what we like?"
Valley Master Nie solemnly said, "Elder Zhang is right. In those years, you all made a lot of contributions to Huichun Valley. Now, it's our turn."
