Chris and the others decided to approach Joe to sell the chocolate. They were unwilling to eat such an expensive item themselves—perhaps this was the way of survival for small people.
As the four of them arrived at the castle gates, they saw Nicole coming in with Ayesha. They quickly greeted her, "Miss Nicole, Miss Ayesha."
"Thank you for your hard work." Nicole said with a gentle smile, knowing that Chris and the others had just returned from their mission.
"It's no trouble serving the city lord." Chris quickly responded.
"Go on with your tasks. I need to prepare dinner for the Young Master." Nicole nodded and headed into the castle with Ayesha.
"Yes."
Nicole took care of all of Lucas's meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Even if she wasn't the one cooking, she kept a close eye on the kitchen and food. This was Nicole's way of showing her tenderness and to keep Lucas safe.
"Nicole, what's for lunch today?" Ayesha rubbed her stomach. She hadn't dared to eat too much at the pizza shop, fearing she wouldn't have room for the delicious food back at the castle.
"You've already had five pizzas. Can you still eat more?" Nicole glanced at Ayesha's belly with a skeptical look.
"I'm only half full. I can still eat a lot." Ayesha said with a look that suggested she was still very hungry.
"Alright, I'll need to check with the Young Master about what he wants to eat." Nicole said with a twitching mouth, recalling how Ayesha had consumed a pizza each time one came out from the kitchen of the pizza shop. Coupled with Annie, who had been chased away earlier, the two of them had eaten as much as five or six customers combined.
Fortunately, Nicole decided to bring Ayesha back to the castle. Otherwise, she couldn't bear the resentful looks from Elisa.
Ayesha had now become the castle's top eater, surpassing even Mina. She thought it was lucky that they were supported by the Young Master; if someone else had to support several big eaters, they'd probably go bankrupt from just feeding them.
"The Young Master should be in the study room right now." Ayesha said softly. Even though she had only been in the castle for a few days, she knew Lucas spent his free time in the study room.
"Ayesha, didn't you mention you had an older sister?" Nicole asked as they walked. "Why don't you bring her over, just like Helen did with her tribe?"
"Well…" Ayesha's purple eyes wandered a bit, thinking about the punishment she'd receive when she went back to her sister. She said awkwardly, "I'll be going back soon, but I don't know if she'd be willing to come."
"Why's that?" Nicole asked, intrigued.
"My older sister is quite capable. She doesn't like to rely on others and is often away from home, frequently going out to find food." Ayesha said, rubbing her hips. She had often been spanked by her sister.
"I see. When will you be going back?" Nicole guessed that Ayesha's older sister must be the independent type.
"Let's see in a few days." Ayesha scratched her cheek, not worried about her sister at all. She knew her sister would never go hungry.
"Hmm." Nicole didn't press further, sensing that Ayesha had great admiration and confidence in her older sister.
Soon, the two arrived outside the study room. Before they even entered, they could hear laughter coming from inside, which piqued their curiosity. They gently pushed open the door…
At that moment, Lucas was feeling quite helpless. He looked down at the panda cub clinging to his foot. The little guy was incredibly clingy.
The panda cub had its claws wrapped around Lucas's foot, refusing to let go, and was biting at his trouser leg, occasionally shaking its head. Even when Lucas moved the panda away and placed it farther, the little guy would roll back to Lucas's feet, living up to its name, and once again cling to his foot and tug at his trouser leg.
At this point, Lucas understood what it must be like for panda caretakers on Earth—dealing with a mischievous little troublemaker.
"Hahaha…"
Mina and Annie, standing nearby, were almost on the floor from laughing. It was the first time they had seen Lucas looking so helpless.
"Hey, enough already. Still biting?" Lucas shook his foot, trying to get rid of the little guy, but it was impossible.
The panda, having just had a full meal, was now full of energy and kept clinging to Lucas. It followed him everywhere he went, and every time he stopped, it would hug his leg.
"Riiiip…"
The sound of fabric tearing startled everyone present. Even the little panda, still chewing on a piece of trouser fabric, looked dazed for a moment before it continued tugging.
"…" Lucas couldn't help but rub his forehead. He was beginning to doubt whether keeping this little creature was the right decision. Maybe he should reconsider Annie's suggestion?
"Hahaha…" Mina and Annie continued laughing, holding their stomachs. "It's so funny. This little thing is just too entertaining."
However, the panda didn't let the two women get close. It would start howling if they tried to come near. Perhaps it was due to its beastkin nature, but Lucas didn't have any issues holding the panda.
"Really, I just can't deal with you." Lucas said indulgently, not willing to scold the little creature. The panda's curiosity was getting the better of it, and it was just being playful.
"Creak…"
The door was pushed open, and Nicole's eyes lit up as she gazed at the panda. She quickly stepped over to Lucas and softly asked, "Young Master, what is this little thing?"
"It's a panda, my first pet. Isn't it adorable?" Lucas boasted.
"It is adorable. May I hold it?" Nicole asked quietly, as if afraid she might scare the panda.
"Of course." Lucas nodded.
"Come here, little guy, let me hold you." Nicole crouched down and reached out to pick up the panda.
"Hmm?" Mina and Annie stared in shock as Nicole easily lifted the panda without any problems. Why would she hold it, but they couldn't? Was it because they had suggested eating the panda?
"Hee hee hee… It's so ticklish…" Nicole giggled as the panda licked her.
"Be careful, it can be quite fierce." Lucas warned.
"Fierce?" The others didn't think the little creature was fierce at all. It just looked like a cute, well-fed little thing.
"This thing? No matter how many there are, I could handle them all in one go." Ayesha said disinterestedly. A six-month-old panda cub, in her view, was still small enough for her to handle and might not even provide enough meat for a single meal.
"What are you saying? If you keep talking like that, I won't feed you," Nicole said with a hint of annoyance, hugging the panda. "This little guy is now part of our family. Don't get any ideas about it."
Lucas, observing the expressions of the others, knew exactly what they were thinking. Nobody expected how clingy and destructive the little panda could be.
He couldn't help but think of a popular saying from Earth: "Clearly capable of living by force, but preferring to live by cuteness."
Pandas are bears, and despite their current adorable appearance, they are still bears. An adult panda can be as fierce as any other bear. Once grown, pandas can fend off three to five wolves, and it would take a pack of wolves to defeat one.
This also reminded Lucas that the beasts from the Forbidden Mountain Range were starting to come out towards the populated area, with even large wolf packs appearing. This indicated that the cold wave was moving towards the western lands.
