After the carriage entered the castle gates and it soon reached the castle main gate, Lucas got out of the carriage and stepped down. Before both of his feet touched the ground, someone pounced towards him. Since his danger sense ability didn't give him a warning, Lucas knew that there was no danger and caught the person who had pounced toward him, and soon realized who the person was.
"Welcome home, Young Master." Annie said in a soft voice as she buried herself in Lucas's embrace, her fox ears twitching and her fox tail wagging.
"Mhmm! I'm back." Lucas nodded and stroked Annie's head. Now that I'm comparing our heights, I finally learned that Annie only reaches up to my chest. This foxgirl is too petite, having the body figure of a 16-year-old loli. If I hug and carry her… cough cough…
"Young Master, I've gotten ugly." Annie tightly hugged Lucas's waist, pressing her face onto Lucas's chest, even though it was a bit hard for her to breath. "Will you hate me?"
"Gotten ugly?" Lucas froze for a second. It's only been a few days. Her genes mutated and she grew crooked? "Cough cough cough." Lucas shook off his wild thoughts, gently pinched Annie's fox ears, and smiled lightly. "How ugly did you get? Come on, let me see."
"You can't laugh at me," Annie said softly. "You have to promise."
"Okay. I promise not to laugh at you." Lucas said with the corners of his mouth slightly raising. Something interesting is already happening the moment I come home. How nice. It feels like I've only been away for 5 hours instead of 8 days.
"Then, then… here! Look!" Annie left Lucas's embrace, took a step back with her head down, then suddenly raised her head.
What was shown was a small white face covered with wheat flour blinking innocently, and some flour fell off her cheek.
"Pfft~ hahaha…" Mina burst out in laughter, and Annie turned to look. She saw Mina standing on the carriage and pointing at her, laughing so hard that tears were coming out of her eyes.
"Hahahaha… are you cosplaying… a clown?" Ayesha also burst out in laughter. She hugged Mina, and they continued to laugh together.
"…" Lucas's lips trembled, trying to prevent himself from laughing. His face became a bit red from trying to hold it in. He slowly turned his head away, his shoulders shaking a few times.
"You- you guys…" Annie stiffened her face and pouted. "Young Master, you laughed, didn't you?"
"No, no… cough cough cough… I didn't laugh." Lucas hurriedly turned his head away, wiping the corner of his eyes with his thumb. Looking at Annie again, he forcibly tried to stop the corners of his mouth from rising.
Annie squinted her brown eyes and scanned Lucas's face, causing more flour to fall off her face.
"Hahahaha…" Mina, who had just stopped laughing, burst out into laughter again. "It's too funny… I can't, my stomach hurts from laughing."
"Damn it, you mutated catgirl, won't you die from laughing." Annie shouted angrily.
"Hahahaha… Annie, your welcome is so special." Mina sat on the wagon, unable to move. She wiped her tears with one hand and covered her stomach with the other. She had lost her strength from laughing.
"Hahahaha…" Ayesha was shaking from laughter. When seeing some of the flour on Annie's face fall down from time to time, she almost passed out from laughter.
"You, you…" Annie looked at Ayesha, her eyes widening and her jaws dropping. There was only one thing left on her mind, and that was Ayesha's huge breasts.
"So big… bigger than Mina's." Annie looked at Ayesha's cow horns and pouted. She glanced at her own breasts, and said with jealousy, "Hmph! Big cows really are big cows… The rumors were real."
The corners of Mina's mouth rose. She knew that Annie was jealous. Annie pouted and looked at Lucas as if she had been wronged. "Young Master, look, they laughed at me."
"I'll spank them later." Lucas responded, smiling lightly. He put his hands on Annie's face, slowly removing the flour from her face.
"No, spanking is bad." Annie refused. Spanking is a reward, not a punishment.
"What gave you the idea to put flour on your face? Who taught you?" Lucas laughed. This reminds me of one of the four evil arts on Earth- makeup.
"The last time the young master gave a lecture to the War Wolf Special Squad, I heard that a person can smear their face with powder and become many times prettier." Annie answered, tilting her head, puzzled. "Did I get the method wrong?"
"Uh..." Lucas was speechless. He remembered that he had given a lecture on camouflage techniques to the War Wolves Squad. So it was my fault. "Eh, not really. You just used the wrong stuff."
After removing as much flour as he could, and looking at Annie's powdery face, Lucas saw the pimple on her cheek and immediately understood what was going on.
"Then what should I use?" Annie shook her cheek that had the pimple. 'I just think it looks ugly.'
"You're already beautiful without using that kind of stuff, so using it will just make you ugly." Lucas said, pinching Annie's face. "You're pretty now. Growing a pimple just means that you're still young and growing your body."
"Really?" Annie's eyes widened. "Is it really not ugly? But it's so ugly to have little pouches on your face."
"It will disappear on its own in a day or two." Lucas comforted her. "You haven't slept well lately, so maybe it'll be gone when you wake up tomorrow."
"Phew…" Annie took a long breath and patted her chest. "That's good."
In this world, if a girl had a pimple on her face, especially noble girls, she would hide in her room and wait for the pimple to go away before she would leave the room.
"Quickly go and wash your face." Lucas said, stroking Annie's head.
"Mhmm!" Annie smiled happily, but her face soon darkened as she walked away and glanced at Ayesha, thinking that life wasn't going to be easy.
"Let's go. It just so happens to be lunchtime." Lucas led the way to the dining room. Nicole probably has already prepared lunch.
Sure enough, Lucas could see Nicole's busy figure the moment he entered the dining room. Seeing that, his heart hurt a little. It was obvious that Nicole was the type of person who would support other people silently.
Hearing the footsteps, Nicole turned around, and seeing Lucas, she smiled, and her eyes were filled with joy. In a gentle voice, she said, "Welcome home, master. Just in time for lunch."
"It's been hard on you." Lucas said, patting Nicole's head.
"No, Annie's the one who had it hard. She hasn't been sleeping well these past few days." Nicole said softly.
"Is it because of those merchants?" Lucas asked, frowning as he thought of the merchants outside the castle. "Are they asking to open a store or complaining there aren't enough goods?"
