"So you already know about this place, have you been her before?" If they knew the name of the village they must've been here once before, so they could teach me about this world.
"Well yes and no, both angels and devils have extensive knowledge of almost every universe, varying from the location of a small rare gem to info of a person in the capital. But truth be told I came here once nearly 500 years ago, and Azel, nearly 900 years ago." Now that I think about it that made a lot of sense, I would imagine cosmic and divine entities to have such a ability.
The best thing I can do at the moment was to go into the village, then learn about the world as well as the village itself, then find a sustainable income. While I could just ask Indra and Azel for help I would want to learn everything myself just in case I can't interact with them anymore.
Making my way down the rocky dirt path the village that seemed small got larger as I approached it, the architecture was simple and detailed, the plants and trees were unfamiliar, even the rocks that littered the ground looked foreign.
Expecting at least questions upon entering the village everyone instead looked at me with a kind smile, it was warm and welcoming. I stopped a woman that was passing by to ask her some questions.
"Hi, Sorry, I'm not from around here, can you tell me where I could find a library or a information center, a tavern would be alright too." The woman's face went from a straight face to a slight smile, so far the people in this village were either very welcoming to visitors or they were just naturally kind.
"Oh yes, if you walk down the path and look to the left you'll find a library, to the right of that is the town hall, as for the tavern, it's to your right." Wow, not only did she tell me both things I needed to know but even told me where to find the main building, what a great lady.
"Alright, thank you. Have a good day" I waved as I left and turned to start walking towards the hall, every building had beautiful decor and the clothing was kinda different from mine but not to the point where it looked otherworldly.
Arriving at the Hall, I expected to see a large building with rather expensive looking detailing, surprisingly, it was the same as nearly every other building, the only thing that distinguishes it from other buildings is the large double doors on the front.
I quit admiring the architecture and went inside, inside was numerous people, and there was only one open line, walking towards the woman I was immediately met with her introducing herself, so I listened to her
"Hello and welcome to the Town hall, you seem new here so I'll give you the run down, here you can learn about this village as well as the continent, Learn to become a full member of this village, you get everything you could get now and more! And you can apply to become a Adventurer." I don't care much for becoming a full member of the village but the other things interested me.
"Oh hello, I wanted to apply as a adventurer and I also had questions, I wanted to know how I could find the capital, which continent I'm on and a way I could make money."
"Well as for becoming an adventurer, we'll do that after I answer your questions, you'll have to pass a couple of tests though. For the questions, the free way is, you can find the capital by walking south west about 387 miles and you should get there or the not so free way of asking Elijah, the ferry man, to take you for a fee. Although, I'm surprised you don't know what continent you're on but oh well, You're on the Zenith continent, or the continent of Adventurers, there's also the Monster, Demon and Dead Continent. And finally, you can get money by
Becoming an adventurer but if you are unable to do that you can work in the library or tavern." Quite a lot of information to process, I had no specific goal in this world except learning about mana, maybe how to utilize weapons and gaining battle experience.
"Ok i see, if it's alright with you I'd like to take the adventurers test, to see If I can become one." I didn't know what the test could be but it shouldn't be too insane.
"Lovely, the test is only 1 part, you have to have mana, which nearly everyone does so it's not an impossible feat, but we will have to measure your specific rank, to make sure you can get certain quests without going over your limit, all you have to do to measure your rank is to put your hand on an orb, channel all the mana you can pull and push into the orb, it measures quality and quantity. Although this orb only measures from F to B rank, A and up is a different measuring device but same process." She held up what looked like a ball and I assumed it was the orb she was talking about, she held it out to me, I guess signaling that I could begin, after contemplating I just went for it, placing my hand on the orb it was cold, like touching ice, then I did as she said and channeled my mana from the outside into my core and out through my hand, after a few moments the core went from its Black to a white, after I determined that it wouldn't change again I took my hand off, the woman's face however looked shocked.
"Well, that's surprising, You are above B rank, it's been a long time since we've met anyone above B rank. Follow me into the back room and we'll get the other orb that measures A and up." The counter immediately had a gate that opened and the woman asked me to follow her, going into the back room she picked up a crate and placed it on a large center table, and inside was another orb, although this one had gold and turquoise etchings, signifying it's higher importance, she held the orb up to me once again, this time instead of a smile on her face, she had a serious look. I repeated the same process as I did on the first orb. The orb once again turned from a black to a White, and it too did not change, so I removed my hand. The woman this time looked terrified.
"That.. Shouldn't be possible.. Your rank. It's unable to be measured, you could be anywhere from SSS to something that doesn't even exist."
