Chapter 1 - Salvation?

Drastically, I clenched at the hem of my dress, my palms shook in fear, cold sweat beads on my forehead agonized me.

I was in panic...gosh, I thinking that my problem would ease but my desperate actions have brought me back to the same spot, the beginning...the very place where I started and hated ever since.

I watched the moon from the window of my dad's car, hoping the serenity of the starlight would help me calm my racing heart .

The car kept on it's course...took a turn after kept on the main course.

In five minutes the car stopped and I could feel my heart thumping against my ribcage. I was scared to death, my Dad brought me back to my mother's clutches, the very place I refuted to return to.

"Tova, you can go now." I couldn't believe my dad was abandoning me again...

"Philip, are you sure. She's not in the condition to...

"Dalila, it's fine." My dad interrupted my stepmother, " Tova, my child go back to your mother. Be strong and think straight. Whatever your decision, I'll accept openly."

I set in complete unbelief as I tried not to be stricken by my father's statement, was he giving me away after all I've been through in my mother's clutches?!

"Who do you think will have the courage and full spirit to endure an aberration as you are! Insolent! You think running to your useless father is a solution? He will throw you back as the piece of nothing that you are."

As much as I hated to admit, those words again evaded my mind and seemed disgustingly true, the bitter truth pierced my heart even deeper.

Stretching my hands to the door handle, my dad's already frustrating voice sounded, "Tova dear, you've got this."

I helplessly nodded in agreement, it sounded like encouragement, but I couldn't help but feel that there was a contempt and relief behind his words.

I got down the car, at this rate of fear all I could hear was the loud heartbeats my heart produced...I was walking to battlefield.

I walked a certain distance before I entered the gates, I humbly made my way to the entrance, knocking onto the door I was psychologically ready for whatever would come.

"Where have you been Tova?" Sophia spoke.

"Wait, let her in first." My mom sounded.

I walked in and stood juxtaposed against the door.

'What if she hits me again?!'

'Should I run?'

'Where do O go at this late hour, back to the freezing outside?'

"Tova, where have you been?" The serenity in my mother's voice shocked me instantly.

"I...I...

"She was with me" My dad spoke behind me.

"I see. And your stuff?" She asked me again.

"Mo... mother I...I

"They're home with me, we'll bring them later on." My mom's brows creased at his statements.

"Mr. Philip, do bring them tomorrow." My mom said with finality.

My dad left, I watched as his silhouette faded as he disappeared out of the scene.

"Tova dear, forgive your mother. If you leave how who would I wrestle with? Hmmm?" She spoke pulling me into a bear hug.

"We love you." Sophia sounded from the background.

"I'm sorry. I am harsh cause I think it's required for your own good but now I can see that it hurts to you."
