Chapter 5 - Chapter 05: Indra Verma

At the moment, Aadi was looking at Asty with a speechless expression while Asty lay peacefully on her cushion, completely ignoring Aadi's gaze.

"You used a spiritual attack, and as if that wasn't enough, you even mixed your thunder in it," Aadi said, turning his focus away from Asty and gently making the old man sit on a chair.

"Well, he's alive, right? What more do you need?" Asty responded, her eyes still closed.

Aadi sighed and asked, "Who's doing the interrogation? Do you want to?"

"Not interested," came an instant response from Asty.

As Aadi had expected this, he sat on the chair opposite the old man and began observing him.

"Oya oya, someone actually put a Reve Mark in his spiritual sea, and it's a very strong one," Aadi was slightly surprised, as putting a Reve Mark on someone's spiritual sea for a long time wasn't something just anyone could do. Anyone with this Reve Mark would feel utmost fear and reverence toward the one who placed it.

He raised his hand and twisted his index and middle fingers a little, creating a small pocket dimension—something Aadi had made in his early days. This pocket dimension could store anything that had existence, whether physical, spiritual, or otherwise.

Aadi then shifted the Reve Mark to the pocket dimension, healed the damage Asty had done to the old man, and created a small spiritual disturbance in the old man's spiritual sea to wake him up.

The old man groaned and looked confused for a moment, taking in his unfamiliar surroundings. Then he remembered how he had lost consciousness, and his body began to tremble just from recalling that terrifying thunder.

"Oiiiiii, are you listening to me or not? Hello, hello, mic testing, hello 1…2…3? Nothing? Hey Asty, look, I told you he'd become stupid. Now what do we do? I was looking forward to the interrogation," Aadi complained, seeing the old man in a daze and seizing the chance to berate Asty.

"But I held back, okay? Who knew this old man would be this weak?" Asty snorted in response. "Just check his memories, and you'll find everything. Why are you doing these pointless things?"

"Who are you?" the old man asked after coming back to his senses and noticing Aadi sitting in front of him. His first thought was to use his cultivation, but he soon realized he couldn't even feel it.

"Seriously, do you have a tape recorder in your throat or what?" Asty said, annoyed at hearing the same question from the old man.

Only after Asty spoke did the old man shift his focus from Aadi to Asty. As soon as his gaze landed on her, a chill ran down his spine, and his body turned cold with fear. He would never forget that thunder; it was even more terrifying than the divine tribulation thunder he had experienced during his breakthrough at the Divine Tribulation Profound Stage.

"Oh my, looks like you traumatized him, little Asty," Aadi chuckled a little, observing the old man's state.

"Isn't it better, then? Now he'll tell us everything easily," Asty said as she opened her eyes, walked over to Aadi, and jumped onto his shoulder.

Aadi nodded in agreement, took out a pill from the pocket dimension, and flicked it into the old man's mouth. It was a Soul Calming Pill, which helped calm one's mind.

The pill's effect made the old man settle, and he began assessing his situation, searching for an escape route. But every scenario he imagined ended with him dying by that thunder, making him shiver again.

"So, tell us everything about yourself and that girl," Aadi asked, seeing the old man's somewhat relaxed expression.

The old man knew his situation and hesitantly said, "I don't know what someone of your caliber is doing in this realm, but I'm telling you that figure isn't someone you can handle. Even in the Divine World, he's most likely standing at the top."

'So he still fears him. Understandable, as the Reve Mark was there for a long time, leaving its mark even after removal,' Aadi thought with a sigh.

"We'll handle ourselves, so just tell us everything. After all, even if you don't, we have many ways to find out," Aadi said.

The old man still hesitated, but he knew he'd die for sure if he didn't speak, so he began sharing his story. "My name is Indra Verma. I'm from the Verma Clan of the Land of Starlight, one of the Five Saint Lands. About seventeen years ago, I reached the Ninth Tier of the Divine Tribulation Profound Stage and was in the process of ascending to the Divine World."

"But someone stopped the process and suppressed me with just a wave of his hand. I had met beings from the Divine World, as my Land of Starlight has some connections there, but he… he was on a completely different level…"

Aadi and Asty ignored his ramblings about how powerful that man from the Divine World was. They only started listening again when he got to the point.

"… so he gave me a little baby and told me to protect her until she reached my level in secret, and told me to name her Aurora Ashborn."

"So I took her to a small clan named Ashborn in the Coralhelm Kingdom and settled her there as the daughter of the clan's patriarch…"

'Why didn't he just let her grow up in the Land of Starlight?' Asty asked Aadi through voice transmission, allowing one to speak directly into another's mind using spiritual sense.

'Maybe his IQ dropped. After all, that Reve Mark is quite complex, and his spiritual sea has some cracks I noticed while healing him,' Aadi replied through voice transmission.

As Indra continued speaking about his past, Aadi quickly interrupted, "Stop! Stop! We get it. Now tell me, how did Aurora end up in this situation under your protection?"
