Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Retirement

A heavy sigh escapes from the mouth of Frederic Kohl Newman, as he travels on a space liner back to Earth, he was forced to retire when the hotel he used to work for in the United States of Planet America in the state of New Ohio when CEO replaced them him and his colleagues with a new cheap and efficient humanoid AI with human features.

Thankfully, Frederic managed to save some credit points, a new currency, to buy a large land on Earth, he decided he will buy one in Japan since the government of the Japanese Empire sells the property the cheapest in East Asia.

Although Frederic can save more if he buys in Africa or the Middle East, however, these places have high crime rates meanwhile South America turned into a Narco Zombie Apocalypse.

"A peaceful life huh..." He muttered.

All his life, Frederic experienced all of his life was violence and crime, growing up in Detroit wasn't easy, especially in the Dawn Era where the start of the Technological Golden Age started.

He only finished high school thus he wasn't able to pursue a much better job, especially in this new age.

Frederic continued to contemplate many things until he fell asleep, he still had many days left before he arrives on Earth.

...

After the 12th day of traveling, the space liner finally arrived on Earth, the massive 300-meter space liner that looked like came out from a sci-fi movie descended and made land on the designated landing point where the ground shook and rumbled due to the weight of the colossal ship.

Frederic quickly exited the ship and headed to the immigration office, the ship landed in Taiwan, so Frederic, after the processing of his digital papers, proceeded to travel towards Hiroshima, Japan.

This time he traveled using a VTOL Air Plane, the lack of staff inside the plane was evident as travelers are now rare on this planet.

...

The ride on the plane was fast contrary to my expectations, it seems they still somehow managed to upgrade their airplanes despite the lack of customers, not that I complain, travelling in an airplane with only a few people was a nice experience.

After the plane arrived at Hiroshima Airport, I then traveled in a taxi headed to the main city, after another hour, I finally arrived in a large building which is the agency that handles the property sales.

Getting inside, I headed straight to the agency office as the guard instructed me to, not long after, I saw a Japanese woman on a wooden table seemingly expecting my arrival, I then sat on a chair as she offers.

I talked with her for a while as I choose which property I want to buy, since my budget is limited, I bought a property in the small town of Akiota located in the northwest of the main city of Hiroshima.

The property consists of a two-story modern house and two medium size storage houses used by the past owner, there is also a man-made pond connected to a nearby river, and the property is just a 10-minute walk away from the town hall so necessities are not a problem.

So after paying around 120,000 credit points the ownership of the property was now mine.

It would be great if my parents were here, unfortunately, they died before the government released the Type-D Multi-purpose vaccine which makes the human body immune to disease and also makes the life expectancy to a hundred if not more years.

...

As he got out of the taxi, Frederic goes straight into the two-story house which reminds him of houses in the United States, the house has a modern design but lacks the technology of smart houses.

Thankfully the house was well taken care of, there are also some items present just like what he saw on the agency website.

Frederic spent much of his week tidying his house and much of the land outside, he thanked god that he bought an automatic AI mower, or else he will put more time into clearing the grass and weeds on his property.

While Type-D makes a human immune to disease, it doesn't mean it's immune to elements like poison, the next thing he doesn't want to happen is to get bitten by a snake and cause his death.

While cleaning the ground floor, Frederic stumbled upon a strange necklace, hidden in an old piece of paper inside a table drawer, it was made of silver probably based on its looks, and it also has a beautiful refined red ruby with strange markings, as he wiping the dust accumulated on it, the necklace suddenly emits a red light and the next thing happened...

Frederic was nowhere to be seen.
