Edward walked out of the bustling terminal of the airport, the cacophony of travelers and announcements a distant hum in his mind. His eyes scanned the crowd until he spotted Rodney, who was rushing toward him with a look of urgency. Rodney quickly took the luggage from Edward's hand and led the way to the car parked at the curb.
"How's the situation at the company?" Edward asked as they walked, his voice taut with concern. He had spent the flight imagining the worst-case scenarios and hoped things hadn't spiraled out of control.
"Everything is going well at the company," Rodney replied, his tone cautious. "I think the issue lies with the chairman." He placed the luggage in the trunk before getting into the driver's seat. Edward slid into the passenger seat, closing the door with a sense of finality. Rodney started the car, and they drove off in silence.
