Edwards, resolute and defensive, faced his father. "No, Father, I'd never. I've been faithful to my wife since our wedding, and she's the only woman that catches my fancy," he declared in an assuring tone, his commitment evident.
However, Mr. Quinn was unyielding. "If you cannot be a responsible father and a husband, how can you manage my lifelong establishments? Prove to me that you can; otherwise, you won't stay in that position long," he threatened, the weight of his expectations hanging heavily over Edwards.
"I'm sorry for causing you to worry about us, Father. I'd handle my home well henceforth and give you grandchildren soon, isn't that right, honey?" Edwards said, turning to Annabelle.
Annabelle smiled, her eyes secretly fixed on Edwards before responding, "Yes, darling," while subtly stepping on his foot.
