Chereads / The Conquest's Rhapsody / Chapter 5 - Unique

Chapter 5 - Unique

"May thy new lives be blessed, and may thou remain united, preserving the very essence of humanity from Earth," the Light's final words echoed with a solemnity befitting a royal decree, bestowing upon them a noble duty that would shape their future.

And then, one by one, the survivors disappeared, their bodies transforming into glowing orbs of light. The balls began to fly through the darkness until they eventually reached an unfamiliar land and gently descended into a grassy meadow.

Then Fodin woke up, his consciousness slowly returning. He couldn't understand how he had become unconscious. "Huh, it feels like I was put under anesthesia," Fodin thought, trying to make sense of his disorienting experience.

"The air feels so fresh," Fodin remarked, taking a deep breath and savoring the crispness of the surroundings. He glanced around and noticed that the other survivors were still unconscious, lying on the grassy field. Concerned, he approached them, checking to see if they were all right.

With a determined expression, Fodin carefully surveyed his surroundings. He found himself standing in the middle of a vast grassland. To the east, there was a river with crystal-clear water, inviting him to quench his thirst. On the western side, a hill rose up, its rugged silhouette contrasting against the sky. In the far south, a dense forest stood, its trees casting long shadows.

Fodin's gaze then turned towards the north. The grassland stretched as far as his eyes could see, making it difficult to estimate the distance. He could roughly gauge that the expanse from the river to the hill was about eight miles. From his current position to the forest, it seemed to be around ten miles away. However, the view to the north was obstructed by the vastness of the grassland, leaving Fodin with a sense of curiosity and uncertainty.

Fodin walked over to the side of the river, the cool water calling to him. He splashed his face, feeling the refreshing sensation wash over him. Despite the sunny day, the water remained cold and invigorating. As he pondered his recent experience, Fodin wondered aloud, "The Assistant that the regulator mentioned... How can I open it? Should I imagine it in my mind, like a system?" Just as the thought crossed his mind, a notification sound chimed, and a hologram appeared before him.

[CHIEF SYSTEM]

[HOST STATUS]

[RULING STATUS]

[CONTRACT]

Four choices were displayed, and Fodin observed, "This is unique. I have no idea what the World system looks like. I can ask others about it later." He contemplated the system further, deciding, "Let's open the host status first."

[Name: Fodin Aditama]

[Age: 21]

[Mana Pool: Red]

[Skill:

{Telekinesis Tier I: Able to move objects with a total energy of up to 10 Joules and a total area of up to one square inch. Each cast requires 5% of the current mana pool.}

{Authority of Chief Tier I:

- Able to display a map of the ruling area, detect any hostile presence, and show it on the map.}

{Contract Holder: This skill is indefinitely active and grants authority over the Bound, providing access to the CONTRACT submenu.}

]

"This doesn't look like an assistant system in an RPG game. What the hell is this garbage?" Fodin exclaimed, his expectations of an RPG system shattered. He examined his skills and remarked, "Telekinesis? Well, it does grant me a cool ability. But with only ten Joules, I can only lift one pound up to seven feet." said Fodin, as he then fell into deep thought, thinking how to activate that skill but he decided to check out later.

Fodin then looked into another one of his skills, "Authority of Chief, huh..." he thought. As he read the skill description and subconsciously thought about how to open the map, a blue transparent square hologram map showed up in front of him. The map only showed the area around him, with hundreds of white dots and one blue dot. "I guess I just need to think of it, and it will show up," he said, as he understood how this skill worked. Then he began to analyze the map, "So it will only show the map I rule, as it only shows a few meters around me. The blue dot is certainly me, while the white dots are surely the survivors," he concluded.

Then he continued to check the last skill, "It must be related to that CONTRACT submenu," he concluded as he read the description.

"Never mind, let's check the next thing first," Fodin declared with a hint of determination. He swiftly returned to the first menu and proceeded to open the second menu, uttering, "Ruling status."

As the screen displayed the following information,

[RULING STATUS]

[Area: 0 mils]

[Vassal state: 0]

[Retainer: 0]

[Total Population: 0]

After briefly assessing the basic real-time strategy (RTS) information, Fodin concluded, "Just basic RTS information, then the Contract menu," he said.

Then the last menu showed up.

[CONTRACT]

[Total Oathsworn: 0]

[List of Oath: ]

[Skill :

{Sacred Oath: This skill allows the host to receive an oath or give a contract to individuals. As the contract holder, the host has the ability to give and determine the breaking penalty. The penalties can result in either depletion of the individual's mana pool or death. To activate this skill, the host must receive an oath from the person and remind them of the consequences of breaking the oath or contract. The host can choose to either terminate or ignore the oath. However, there is an exception to this rule. The host may voluntarily enter into an equal contract in which both the host and the other party are unable to terminate or ignore the oath without the consent of both parties involved.}

As Fodin read the skill description, his eyes widened in astonishment. "Wow, this skill is incredible!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement. "no wonder it was called a unique system," he said. With a satisfied expression on his face, Fodin finished analyzing his system.
