" Am going to check up on Dion " Charis replied with a hint of worry laced up on his voice as he wore his pants
" What happened " Demetra asked clearly apprehensive
" Nothing really happened "

" Yeah, and thanks for the concern but before that let me go freshen up a little " he pecked her lips and walked towards the bathhouse where a bath has been made ready by the maid servants.
When he stepped into the bathtub and submerged himself into the water filled with jasmine and lavender which helped in calming his tensed up nerves he relaxed but his mind kept replaying the scenes that happened in the study room.
He overreacted and he knew he was just carried by emotions and shouldn't have slapped him but the deed has been done and he can't keep crying over spilled milk.
** few minutes later, he stepped out of the bathtub in his full glory dried up himself and wore his bathrobe and walked out of thw bathroom.
While he was drying his hair with a towel he looked up only to see Demetra sleeping. He strutted towards her and noticed that a hair was dangling in front of her face and seemed to be disturbing her sleep.
He raised his hand and was about to get rid of the hair but as his hand got closer to her face he stopped as so many emotions swirled past his eyes in a span of a few seconds.
He looked like he was having some kind of inner struggle with himself but after some seconds he raised the hand which he had dropped down previously and removed the hair.
" I am sorry, please forgive me " Charis muttered to himself or rather to her feeling guilty then he stood up and went into the wardrobe while calling a maid to assist him as he dressed.
But what he failed to notice was that as he turned his back, a drop of tear fell of from Demetra eyes and she opened her eyes.
" You still love her after all these years, am I not enough for you even after so many years that we have been together " Demetra thought to herself as more tears began falling.
She knew all along that she was merely a substitute but she did nor want to believe it and that the only reason while he still shows her care is because he felt guilty. Despite all she had done he did not still fall for her, she lost to her again and again.
