"The reward has been left with the magistrates," Penelope said. "We will collect it upon our return."
"Hohhh… So we could just lie and say that we've done it?"
"We could, but it would likely take less than a week for them to catch onto us, and then our business as mercenaries would be entirely done. So I would prefer it if you didn't," Penelope said.
"Heh, sorry Princess," Silverfish said, tapping a finger against the side of his head. "I'm just thinkin', that's all. The Boss wants speed, and there's different ways of getting speed than just working harder."
Vale flicked his hand away from his head. "You thinking is a danger for all of us. I would sooner have you quiet."
Once more, it was another journey of a few hours across the Merca countryside. The men were getting used to the interludes in between missions at this point. Vol, however, still tapped his axe against his thigh as he marched, unable to vent his impatience in any other way.
