The same was true of Harland and Vale's battlefields, though theirs were even more dangerous, given that it was a battle between Second Boundary individuals. Injured as they were, the two were already at a disadvantage. Vol fancied that at their best, they could have easily taken care of the men in front of them, but that was not true on that day. They were just barely hanging on.
This was where the deadlock would be had, Vol thought. If he pushed here, if he overcame here, then the battle would be overwhelmingly in their favour.
'But why's he so damn slippery???' Vol asked himself in irritation. His axe just couldn't reach the crafty black-armorued man. He didn't seem to have an ounce of shame. He was willing to do whatever it took to hold Vol up, and that alone was enough to put the Sea Serpents and the rest of their army at a disadvantage.
