"Close to it, I am afraid," Francis said. "Our other silver mercenaries have employment elsewhere, and we can not very well run them out of it. Perhaps I might be able to pull together all that I have in order to send you another group, but if you are to continue battling as you are, I am sure you will come knocking, asking for another round of men… And there might be other groups in need of silver mercenary recruitment as well."
"Then we can recruit ten gold mercenaries this time," Vol said. "We've got the coin for it now."
Francis nodded his approval. "That would be helpful. However, is the problem not to do more with their lack of training and integration into your ranks than it is simply to do with the quality of the men you have themselves? We have already seen the number differential in the casualties of the most recently recruited compared to those that have been with you a while."
