Indeed, the wave of infantry came. Some two hundred reinforcements, as spread out as the Sea Serpents were, they entered the chaotic melee. Their arrival served to bolster the bowmen, preventing them from the route that they'd been so close to.
The instant that they arrived, there was a giving of ground. The newest fifty of the Sea Serpents were already breathing heavily. Though the enemy were weak, there were many of them, and they'd begun the fight at a sprint, and now they were beginning to pay for it. When the infantry came, they gave way to them, making distance, so that they might step back, and recover their breaths.
