Even giving in to his monster, Jev could not help but offer a begrudging degree of respect. Nobleman General Varn might have been, but it wasn't as if he'd reached the rank of General in the King's army by sheer look. He was a man of considerable mettle, and that man was growing increasingly angry by the second.
"WHERE IS HE?"
"TO THE LEFT! TO THE LEFT!"
"THOSE ARE OUR OWN MEN! HE'S NOT THERE!"
A cry went up, distracting the two of them for but a second. "Vagrin," Jev muttered, still remembering the man's name, despite the fogginess that now entered into his mind. Human words felt strange on the tongue. It made him want to bite his mouthpiece off, and use it for something else. It felt foreign in the new body that he wore.
