His belly rumbled. That was all. His body starved for something to eat. Penelope hear the grumbling, and she hid her smile, for she supposed herself to be the only one to hear it. The others were all hanging on Vol's words, hope in their eyes.
"We go forward," Vol continued. "You haven't wasted all your energy yet, have you?"
"N-no, Commander. I can do more. A small break, and I can do more," Harland declared.
"And the carriages have indeed survived," Vol noted. "At least, enough of them have."
"I see a plan coming together here. We rest our men on the back of the carriages, and we get out of here, before they deal with that… monster? Is that what that is?" Northy said.
"It's a Black Goblin," Vol replied, though he had no idea what exactly that meant. "It holds the rank of Captain, apparently."
"Does it? How's a monster a Captain?" Northy asked, but Borne laid a hand on his shoulder.
