With a giant hand, he patted Penelope on the head, renewing her attention. "Little Syndran," he said, adopting a tone with her that he did not often use. It was a tone that he reserved for his officers, when he wanted something out of them. "This vision of yours, how reliable is it?"
"I don't know exactly what you mean… But I am convinced of the prophecy, Vol. With it right in front of us now, how could I not be?" Penelope said, blinking at him.
"I mean to say, how can we use it? I have certain suspicions. Would your sight confirm them?" Vol asked. "If I were to send me down the road towards Darling, would I find something there?"
Collectively, the gathered men's eyes widened, as Vol, seemingly unsatisfied with the army in front of him, aired his suspicions that there was likely something more in store. Penelope too had the same reaction. A hand went to her mouth, and she almost fell from her feet. She trembled as if she'd been hit by something.
