"…" Vol was silent. In truth, he hadn't known what to expect. He'd started raiding in the hopes of stirring up the local Earls into a position where he could target their weaknesses, and in the end, it seemed as if he'd gotten that aim.
"Are we at least in agreement that it is likely the Earl that marches towards us?" The Elder said.
"Perhaps. Which Earl?" Vol said.
"Which Earl…? Earl Maddon, of course!" The Elder said, fuming at what he believed to be the most obvious of facts.
To that, Vol shrugged. "It could as easily be Earl Brighteyes," Vol said.
"Earl Brighteyes? What on earth would Earl Brighteyes have to do with this… You've been antagonizing a man from an earldom so far away?" The Elder said. "I can hardly believe it. What trouble you've brought…"
