The final goblin tried to flee, but the Water Goblin thwomped after it, and dealt with it with a sword to the back. It groaned out in its victory, sounding very much like it was in pain. Vol had to wince, even as his heart beat excitedly.
"See how it looks like it's about to explode at any second?" Pandora said.
"Yeah," Vol nodded. He could look at nothing else.
"That's because it's unstable, see? There's a reason you don't see the likes of that monster wandering around in the wilderness. It can't exist for long by itself. A few hours, at best," Pandora said. "Can you find out why that is, Vessel?"
"The two types are poorly matched, or something?" Vol guessed.
"Indeed!" Pandora said, flashing a fanged smile. "They share few properties. Only the liquid nature of the goblin's blood and your will allowed for them to combine by force. Well, have I broadened your mind?"
"…You have," Vol replied mutely, thinking on the possibilities.
