Vol wasn't looking at his features, though. He was looking at his level. The System sought to simplify the world, so that Vol could subordinate it – or so Pandora had told him once. The System gave him a level – level 150, but even that number seemed to do little in the way of explanation.
"Puzzled?" The man said, smiling with his lips curling past his teeth, revealing canines that seemed to be more like a wolf's fangs. "You ought to be. It is my very nature to be puzzling."
"I was enjoying watching this unfold," Pandora said, speaking suddenly, "but if this goes any further, I do believe the vessel is liable to embarrass himself. The man before you is no ordinary soul. If you had been thinking of anything save for cutting his head off, you might have realized that he had passed through the Second Boundary. His Blessing… well, I do suppose it makes you something like cousins. How amusing."
