The square of two hundred cavalry laying off menacingly to the right was the real problem. If they were to charge like they normally would – and Vol had wished to do exactly that – the cavalry would whirl around and dive straight through their right flank before they knew what was happening. If not for Vale's warning, that likely would have been carried out already.
"A weakness, Vessel," Pandora noted. "You were right to throw yourself into the chaos, so that it could tear you apart, and find the truth worthy of you. Now you're as stranded as a goat surrounded by wolves. You know not what to do."
Without the System, Vol found himself looking at his men more, trying to gauge their morale. Ordinarily, the System would have told him their standings even without him needing to be anywhere near him. It was a more complicated matter trying to achieve the same results with it.
