"Fate swirls around that little girl like planets around the sun," Pandora murmured. "Why did she have to go and spoil something as beautiful as chaos with the stringent restrictions of prophecy?"
"There's danger, Vol," Penelope said, grasping Vol's forearm. She gave him the words quietly, so that the others couldn't hear. "You head down an unhappy path. You were ever so alone on that mountain top. You stood higher than anyone else, yet you were cold and abandoned."
"Do not counsel me away from my choices, Penelope," Vol told her, his tone equally as quiet.
"I don't," Penelope said. "But I reject the prophecy. I shall never let you become as alone as that. No matter what you do, I will find the good in you, and point it out for the whole world to see."
"Tsch," Vol said, throwing her hand off his, as he fought to hide his smile.
