The Corpse Soldiers didn't cease though. They only heeded the commands of the Vessel. They paid Vale's protests no mind, and continued to surge towards Penelope. The silver-haired Syndran girl gulped, but she nonetheless summoned her purple fire into her hands in an attempt to defend herself
With a swing of her arm, the flames flew, enveloping the corpse soldier closest to her. It howled with demonic irritation, but it didn't slow, nor did it stop. Coated in purple fire, it took its first swing at Penelope, who had to practically throw herself out of the way to dodge its blade.
By now, Vale could see that Vol was more than serious, and she could see where Penelope was likely to end up if she didn't receive the assistance that she required.
Vol tossed his axe aside. "Slip past me without an axe. That should at least be possible."
