"Perhaps, this man might have a use…" The Elder said pointedly. Vol was surprised to see him glance at the girls to see their reaction to Harland. He seemed to genuinely care – at least on some level – what their opinions were. Despite the fact that he was practically forcing them into marriage, it seemed a strange thing to Vol.
Two of the girls had their expressions soften looking at him. The girl with the red hair, and the girl with the brown. The black-haired foreign foreign-looking girl might have had the same interest, but it was hard to tell with her lack of expression.
Vol wasn't surprised. Harland was handsome – certainly amongst the most handsome of their men – and he was intelligent. He had a carefulness that raiders usually lacked, and he knew a degree of gentleness. Yet, amongst all that, he was still a dangerous, dangerous man. It was an exciting combination for a woman.
