Satisfied that the battle would reach its conclusion soon enough, Vol turned his attention to the many carts that Koresh had been dragging along with him. Vol could sense the riches that must have laid in them even before he took a step towards opening them. After all, these were riches that were meant to make up for the lack of slaves that they'd had. There must have been a plentiful amount of them to do that.
Within the next handful of minutes, with a good few cries from the high-standing officers – Northy and Harland had now joined in – demanding that the enemy surrender, weapons began to be thrown down.
A surprising amount of them had been killed in such a short term, Vol could see, now that the men were stepping away from the mountain of corpses, as they threw their weapons on the ground.
A brief glance told him that at least two hundred lay dead, and then a report a few minutes later confirmed that estimate to be near enough right.
