"Horny Bert, that's who," Silverfish said cheerfully. "N' he's dead. As dead as dead can be. Burned up as well. Won't be seeing him again – not in this lifetime."
"Horny Bert?" Harland said. From the blank look on his face, that name meant nothing to him, just as it meant little to the rest of them that had travelled to Darling from afar.
"I wouldn't worry about it. You go and fulfil your tasks, Vice-Commander," Silverfish said, shooing him away with a flick of his wrist.
"Is it me, or has Silverfish gotten considerably cockier since I left?" Harland said, his displeasure more than evident.
"He's always been like that," Vagrin spat. "We need to get rid of him. He's nothin' but a nuance. And I swear he's been stealing. He's always skulking around, getting up to something."
"Can the same not be said of you, Vagrin?" Harland commented.
